Pettersson Takes Canadian Open Title

Swede Carl Pettersson has won his fourth PGA Tour title, taking the first place finish after finishing 14-under after shooting 67 yesterday on the final day of the Canadian Open. This was after a stunning third round where Pettersson shot a new course record of 60, after nearly clinching a fabled 59 but having it stolen away by the lip of the hole.

In other Canadian Open news, Charlie Wi finished in a very respectable 4th place, and former number 1 David Duval tied for 17th. Duval is an interesting player as he started the decade battling for number 1 with Tiger Woods, and now is struggling to remain on the tour at all. However, I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of David Duval. He finished 2nd in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro, and though his play hasn’t been amazing of late, it has been far from poor. I believe that Duval has the talent to get back near the top of the leaderboard, as long as he can put in the necessary effort.
