The Balancing Act

Are you doing the balancing act with golf?  One of the great benefits from the Black Belt Golf System is learning balance through martial arts for the golfer.

If you were to ask the best instructors in the world what are some the key aspects that have to happen to make your golf swing solid and to hit solid shots, they would tell you balance.  If the golfer gets off balance anywhere in the golf swing, it makes it very challenging to hit great golf shots.  With this in mind, we work really hard to make sure balance is kept throughout the golf swing.

An important aspect to balance is the abdominal muscle which is the center of your body.  If this muscle is not strong enough to keep you stabilized, then you are going to struggle throughout the golf swing.  Opposite of the abdominal is the back muscles.  If the back gets out of shape or the golfer has lower disk problems, then this can dramatically reduce maximum performance.

Strong hip flexors and leg muscles are also important for balance in the golf swing.  If you do not have strong legs or hip flexors, then you will have a difficult time with the transition from back swing to the down swing which then makes it difficult to move well into the finish.

The martial arts side of the Black Belt Golf System is designed to help strengthen your abdominal area, prevent back injury and keep your back strong and keep your hip flexors loose and flexible along with keeping your legs developed and strong.  All of the exercises in the system are designed to keep the golfer in balance.

A final note on balance: it is not only important to keep good balance throughout the golf swing and hold that nice pose at the finish as if you are on camera, but it is also important to keep good balance in your attitude with the good shots and bad and even more important, keep that great balance in life.  Balance is what each golfer should strive for both on and off the golf course.
