The Players Championship 2011 & Colonial
Here is my take on the 2011 Players Championship:
K.J. Choi enjoyed his biggest win of his career at the Players Championship. David Toms had a superb shot in the fairway on the 72nd hole. With his ball landing in a divot, he hit a career shot to about 15 feet and then made a fantastic putt to get himself into a playoff. Even though David missed the small put on the first playoff hole, David was very happy with his play.
It was great to see K.J. Choi win. He has been starring down some big wins in his career but had not closed the deal until this Players.
Just to show the tenacity of David Toms, he went the next week with lots of confidence and felt like he was going to play very well next week and take what he learned over to the next event. David went on to win at Colonial. Not a bad two week stretch, tie for first at the players and then win in the next week.
David could have been very hard on himself and if he was, then I believe he would not have gone out and just play great golf. Instead, he took the positive from last week and carried it over and performed great and won.
